In short: WalkReach is designed to help people discover and connect with others nearby while keeping exact location information private. This policy explains what information WalkReach may collect, why it is used, how it is protected, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

Depending on the features you use, WalkReach may collect information you provide directly, information generated while you use the service, and information supplied by your device or browser.

  • Account information: name or display name, username, email address, phone number where provided, password credentials, account status and related account records.
  • Profile information: profile photo, date of birth or age-related information, gender, bio, interests, city, country and other information you choose to add to your profile.
  • Location information: device GPS coordinates when you grant permission and use location features, together with approximate place information such as city or locality where available.
  • Social activity: connections, messages, likes, profile views, notifications, referrals, reports, blocks and other interactions generated through WalkReach.
  • Business information: business name, category, description, contact details, city, registration information and verification information when you create or refer a business.
  • Transaction information: records needed to identify and reconcile passes, subscriptions, Plus access and other payments. Payment providers may process sensitive payment details directly.
  • Technical information: browser/device information, IP address, timestamps, session information, security events and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the service.

2. Location and discovery privacy

Location is a core WalkReach feature. If you enable location access, WalkReach may use your device's latitude and longitude to calculate discovery distances and determine an approximate place such as a city or locality.

  • Your exact GPS coordinates are used for service functionality and are not intended to be displayed to other users as your exact location.
  • Discovery can use approximate distances and place information rather than exposing your precise coordinates.
  • You can turn location access off through WalkReach's location controls or your device/browser permissions.
  • Clearing your saved location removes the stored location used for discovery, subject to technical logs or records that may be retained for legitimate security, legal or operational purposes.
  • Travel Mode and expanded discovery may use a selected destination or discovery area to provide the feature you request. You should avoid entering a private address when a broader place is sufficient.

3. How we use information

WalkReach may use information to:

  • create and maintain your account and profile;
  • provide people, place and business discovery and calculate approximate distances;
  • apply visibility, location and discovery preferences you select;
  • enable connections, messaging, likes, notifications, referrals and other social features;
  • provide passes, WalkReach Plus, Travel Mode and other paid or promotional features;
  • process, verify and reconcile transactions and prevent payment abuse;
  • operate business listings, applications and verification workflows;
  • send service notifications and, where enabled, promotional or product updates;
  • detect fraud, spam, abuse, security threats and violations of WalkReach's rules;
  • troubleshoot, maintain, improve and secure the platform; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. When information may be shared

WalkReach does not need to expose your exact GPS coordinates to other users for ordinary discovery. Information may nevertheless be shared in the following circumstances:

  • With other users: information you choose to make visible on your profile or through interactions, subject to your privacy and visibility settings.
  • With service providers: trusted providers that help host, secure, deliver, analyze or operate parts of WalkReach.
  • With payment providers: information necessary to initiate, verify or reconcile payments for paid features.
  • For safety and legal reasons: where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users or WalkReach, enforce our terms, or comply with applicable law or a valid legal process.
  • Business verification: information supplied for verification may be reviewed or checked through appropriate verification processes. Only information needed for that purpose should be submitted.

WalkReach does not sell your personal information merely because you use the discovery service.

5. Cookies, sessions and similar technology

WalkReach may use cookies, sessions and similar technical mechanisms to keep you signed in, protect your account, remember preferences, maintain security and make the website function correctly. Blocking necessary cookies may affect parts of the service.

6. Payments and third-party services

Some WalkReach features may use third-party services such as payment processors, hosting providers, communications services, analytics or security infrastructure. Those providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. WalkReach only receives and stores the information needed to operate the relevant feature, reconcile activity or maintain account records.

8. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account and transaction records, protect users, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse and satisfy legal or regulatory requirements. Retention periods can differ depending on the type and purpose of the information.
